The true rainbow toning combined with superb mint luster is really a sight to behold. A half-moon pattern is evident on both the obverse and reverse, which is both visually appealing and a testament to natural toning. Increased oxidation along the reverse rim created some carbon also in this same curved pattern, which surprisingly seems to add character to the coin rather than solely detract from its eye-appeal as you would normally expect carbon to do. As with most dramatically toned coins, photographs cannot translate the movement and "magic" of the iridescence that this coin displays in-hand.
Note: If the colors on this coin appear drab in the pictures, this is a technical issue regarding either color profiles of different web browsers or else particular monitors. The coin is actually incredibly colorful, yet on one of our two computers here it looks muted, making the fiery orange a tannish-orange and the wild blue, green, and purple all seem greyish. Please note that these tones are actually very vibrant.
